NIIT eGuru launched in city

VIJAYAWADA: ‘NIIT eGuru', a holistic school learning solution for students from the NIIT Ltd, was launched in the city on Friday. The software package offers a spectrum of products and solutions for betterment of teaching-learning process by involving students, teachers as well as the managements actively in its scheme.

Addressing a press conference here, NIIT vice-president Tarun G. Mathur said that the new package was designed to provide effective learning solutions for students and the objective was to make the curriculum in schools more interesting and interactive. “Our aim is to bring back the joy of learning. Interactive learning is given top priority in every aspect of it,” he said.

Mr. Mathur said that the ‘eGuru' package for schools comprises ‘interactive classrooms' for teachers, ‘math lab', ‘mobile science lab and IT wizard' and ‘quick school'. With these services, ‘eGuru' involves students, teachers and managements effectively in implementing the packages to give maximum results. ‘Quick school' was an education resource planning solution for school managements.

Asserting that the future needs of students should be fully met in view of competition, Mr. Mathur said that their software was specially designed to address this growing need of enabling managements to make optimum use of the information and communication technology (ICT) in schools.

Interactive

NIIT general manager Jitendra Kumar Pradhan said that the interactive classrooms were designed as per the recommendations of the National Curriculum Framework 2005 and they integrate teaching, learning, assessment and analysis through optimisation of technology.

By taking ‘eGuru' package, schools would become eligible to send their students to national platforms to showcase their talents and also participate in ‘Digital Arts Festival', an annual event conducted by the NIIT. Another additional feature was that the students will get a chance to become members of chess clubs to be formed as part of NIIT Mind Champion Academy, a joint initiative of the NIIT and Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand.
