TIRUCHI: The Council of National Institutes of Technology has given a commitment in the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court that a new Board of Governors (BoG) would be formed for the National Institute of Technology – Tiruchi (NIT-T) by the end of November, 2010, it is learnt. The case came up for hearing recently. The delay in constitution of the BoG was detrimental to the interests of the Institution, sources said. Referring to the notification of the National Institute of Technology Act, 2007, sources said that the members of the BoG constituted in 2003 were still managing the institute “without any locus standi”. Any decision of the existing BoG was not binding on the Director .
