TIRUCHI: The Tiruchi District Youth and Students' Exnora has urged the State government to introduce Exnora extension activities under Part IV in all the universities, on the lines of the one being offered by the Bharathidasan University.

In a memorandum to the Deputy Chief Minister, M. K. Stalin, the forum said the part IV programme of the Bharathidasan University was sensitising students to ecological conservation and environmental protection.

It also urged the government to organise awareness camps on environmental conservation through civic bodies.

Welcoming the flood prevention measures of the administration across the Uyyakondan river in Tiruchi, the memorandum also pleaded for setting up the Tidel Park expeditiously. Work on development of the Annal Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital should also be taken up immediately, it said. A team of office-bearers of the Exnora, led by its secretary T.Senthil Kumar, submitted the memorandum to Mr. Stalin recently. The founder of Exnora, M.B.Nirmal, was present.
