Maulana summoned for instigating murder
BAREILLY: A local court has summoned the head of an Islamic outfit for allegedly announcing a cash reward of Rs. 5 lakh to anyone who kills controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen, prosecution sources said here. Chief Judicial Magistrate Yogendra Ram Gupta issued the summons to Eith-e-haad Millat Council president Maulana Taukeer Raza on Monday, directing him to appear before the court on September 24. On March 16, Khan allegedly announced the reward to anybody who beheads Nasreen, whose writings have angered radical Islamic groups. — PTI
