KADAPA: Kadapa Mayor P. Raveendranatha Reddy on Wednesday charged Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu of being behind the malicious campaign being unleashed against Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohana Reddy. Lambasting former Minister Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy for releasing photos of Mr. Jaganmohana Reddy's palatial house in Bangalore alleging that it spanned over 30 acres, he told a news conference that the MP's house was on an eight-acre site. Denouncing charges that Jagan amassed wealth, he said that Jagan had set up a Sandur hydel power plant in Karnataka after his studies and was getting an income of Rs.3.40 per unit on 22,000 million units per day. Jagan's assets such as Bharathi Cements Ltd. were known to people and he need not amass wealth by illegal means, Mr. Raveendranatha Reddy said. He accused TDP leaders of repeating falsehood with the hope that people would believe it as true. Flaying MLA Revanth Reddy for levelling allegations on his fertilizers factory, the Mayor said that charges of his company selling mixed fertilizers in Chennai was a blatant lie. His three fertilizer companies were licensed to sell fertilisers in the State, but could procure inputs from any source without any curbs.
