Teachers should ensure that government institutions post cent per cent results Bopaiah promises financial help for completion of building Madikeri: Speaker K.G. Bopaiah has said that the State Government is planning to come out with a new education policy. It would be formulated after consultations with teachers and experts. He was speaking after inaugurating an educational convention of the Kodagu High School Headmasters and Headmistresses and PU College Principals' Association at the Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Multipurpose Indoor Auditorium here on Wednesday, an official press release said. He called upon the teachers not to give room for corrupt practices in the educational institutions, saying it would erode the sanctity of the noble profession. Teachers should also exercise care not to let in politics of any kind into the portals of educational institutions, he added. The Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan scheme would enable all schools to get the required basic facilities. He asked the teachers to prove a point by ensuring that exam results in government institutions were on a par with those in private educational institutions. Teachers should strive to ensure that government educational institutions posted cent per cent results, Mr. Bopaiah said. He promised financial help to complete the building of the association being taken up in the city. Deputy Director of Public Instruction Ramaswamy said that each high school had been given Rs. 65,000 under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Sahiksha Abhiyan for taking up works relating to the facilities. He called upon schools to start health clubs and utilise the benefits under the Suvarna Arogya Chaitanya scheme involving the students. Mr. Bopaiah distributed commendation letters to government high schools which had secured 100 per cent results in the 2009-10 SSLC examinations. He gave away cash incentives to students who secured the first three places in the SSLC exams in Kodagu in 2009-10. State award-winning teacher B.R. Joyappa, who is the principal of the Madhe Maheshwara Composite PU College, was felicitated.
