For close look:Jagan during ‘Odarpu yatra' in Prakasam on Wednesday. ONGOLE: A day after Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu ridiculed ‘Odarpu yatra' and branded YSR as ‘corrupt', Congress Kadapa MP Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday put up a spirited defence of the YSR regime. “Politics had degenerated to low levels that unfounded allegations are being levelled against YSR even 12 months after death, to deliberately mislead people. Those spreading canards out of jealousy will be swept away in the wave of people's support,” Mr. Jagan asserted in an oblique reference to Mr Naidu's remarks on Tuesday. Continuing his tour for the sixth day, he said while addressing meetings in K. K. Mitla, Markapur and Dornala mandals, “I am proud of being the son of YSR, who has implemented schemes to benefit every section.” Mr. Jagan, who was accompanied by Minister for Mines Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, thanked every voter for bringing YSR back to power in 2009. Women and youth in particular thronged to hear him at Gottlagatta, Nandipalem, Madireddipalem and S.L. Gudem, among other places. As women farm workers came rushing en route, Mr Jagan sipped gruel mixed with buttermilk and ate food given by women. He consoled the bereaved family members of YSR admirer K. Tirupati Reddy in Chinarikata who had died of heart attack after the party secured only a thin majority in the 2009 Assembly elections. He also called on the families of two others.
