Pratibha case posted to September 17
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The 11 {+t} {+h} Fast Track Sessions Court Judge B.V. Gudli on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the call centre employee Pratibha Murthy's murder case to September 17 for further arguments.
Pratibha Murthy, who was working for a leading call centre in Electronic City, was kidnapped, raped and murdered on December 13, 2005. The accused Shiva Kumar, driver in one of the cars assigned by call centre to bring their staff members, had allegedly taken her to an isolated place in Anajanapura Layout and committed the offence.
The Judge passed the orders following non-production of Shiva Kumar, the cab driver accused in the case, before the court.
A police constable, who was to escort Shiva Kumar, told the court that the accused was not well and hence was not brought from Bangalore Central Prison, where he is lodged.
The Judge directed the jurisdictional Kumaraswamy Layout police to produce Shiva Kumar on the next date of hearing of the case.
