Special buses for festival

BANGALORE: In view of the Gowri-Ganesh festival, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is operating 600 extra buses from Thursday to September 12 to provide transport facility for passengers.

According to a KSRTC release, special buses would be operated from Bangalore Kempe Gowda Bus Station to Dharmasthala, Kukke Subramanya, Shimoga, Hassan, Davangere, Hubli, Belgaum, Bijapur, Raichur, Gulbarga, Bellary, Tirupati and others places.

Special services to Mysore, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalnagar, Madikeri route would be operated from Mysore Road Satellite Bus Station. Similarly, special buses, except Volvo services, would be operated from Shanthinagar Bus Station to Madurai, Kumbakonam, Trichy, Chennai, Coimbatore and other places in Tamil Nadu. For the benefit of passengers who have advance reservation, special buses would be operated from Mysore Road Satellite Bus Station towards North-West (Hubli, Dharwad, Belgaum, Bijapur, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar and so on) and North-East (Gulbarga, Bellary, Raichur, Hospet, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar and so on).

Advance reservation of tickets is available for special and scheduled buses of KSRTC is available at KSRTC counters. In addition, special services will also be operated from all taluk bus stands in the jurisdiction of KSRTC based on the traffic needs.

BMTC special buses

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has appealed to the public to use BMTC buses instead of their own vehicles to reduce the traffic congestion in and around Majestic area on Thursday. It has deployed over 700 additional buses.
