CSR is a passion with ONGC, says ED

RAJAHMUNDRY: ONGC is a front runner in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the country said Mr. A. A. Khan, Executive Director-Asset Manager, Rajahmundry Asset on the occasion of contributing 10.0 billion standard cubic metres of gas from the Tatipaka Gas collecting station and successful nine years completion of ONGC's mini refinery in Tatipaka refinery premises on Thursday. ONGC spends around 2 per cent of its profits on CSR in the country.

Speaking to media after inspecting the refinery he said that the two major CSR projects to be launched in operational areas of Rajahmundry Asset in Konaseema. ONGC has funded Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan Gandhi Institute of Computer Education and Information Technology's job-oriented computer courses to the weaker sections of the society in its operational area in Tatipaka in East Godavari District to be commenced from 29th of this month.

Secondly, ONGC is funding Helpage India to run 20 mobile medical units in operational areas for five years in the country. Of them three mobile medical units equipped to cater to the preliminary medical needs of the elderly belonging to BPL families in operational areas. The first medical unit will be launched on September 29. It will be operational from Tatipaka. The three mobile medical units will be having their bases in Tatipaka, Malkipuram and Amalapuram.

Mr J.A.Kumar, GM-HR, Mr. D. M. R. Sekhar, GM-(Production) Surface Manager, Mr C. Satyanarayana, GM-GAIL, Mr. Bharat Bhushan, Chief Regional Manager, HPCL, Vizag and other senior executives of ONGC participated.
