Report may not taste good to some sections, says Duggal

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Justice B.N. Srikrishna has stated that the committee headed by him would show “a good direction” to the Centre on the issue referred to it. “It is neither a useless nor meaningless committee as mentioned by some sections,” he said.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Justice Srikrishna reacted strongly to a question (TRS MP K. Vijayashanti made certain comments at Sangareddy on Wednesday) by replying in Telugu: “Panikimalina, dikkumalina committee kadu, kendra prabhutvaniki manchi dikkunu soochistundi (our panel will suggest good solutions to the Centre).”

Member-Secretary V.K. Duggal, however, admitted the report might not taste good to some small sections, which the committee would not mind and the State would handle such sections.

He refuted reports that the panel had favoured Hyderabad as Union Territory and urged the media not to misreport and interpret their statements.
