JTpac offers sponsorships

Special Correspondent

KOCHI: JTpac (Jose Thomas Performing Art Centre) is to offer JTpac Select, a ‘community sponsorship' programme providing an opportunity for art enthusiasts to be a part of all shows screened at the centre.

In the past 15 months JTpac has presented 25 diverse programmes in its effort to uphold its vision. Performances by Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Udit Narayan, Colonial Cousins, Shobhana, and plays by Naseerudin Shah, Mohanlal and Mukesh, Paresh Rawal to name a few.

The centre, with film actor Mohanlal as chairman, has been able to lend a hand to artistes, especially through the fellowship conferred every month to great exponents of art, says a communication.

JTpac proposes to have an art café where one could have one-to-one interaction with performing artistes, a print and visual library as well as art demonstration classes.

Film actor Mammootty became the first member of JTpac Select and Manappuram Group of Companies represented by its chairman, V.P. Nandakumar was the sponsor of JTpac for the year.
