Election petition: Minister gives evidence
Legal Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Minister for Higher Education D. Sridhar Babu appeared in the High Court on Thursday to give evidence in an election petition filed against him. Justice K .C. Bhanu was hearing a petition filed challenging his election. The Minister faced cross examination before the Judge. Suman Rathod, the TDP MLA, also appeared before Justice Bhanu to depose in election petition filed against her election.
Writ petition dismissed
Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar dismissed a writ petition challenging the conditions imposed by APGenco on the contractors who want to participate in the tendering process for the construction of power plants.
APGenco had insisted that only such of the contractors who have the experience of constructing 300 MW plant alone can participate in the bidding. BGR Engineering Systems filed the writ petition contending that such condition is bad and violative of guidelines issued by the central Electricity regulatory authority. The Judge said that the courts cannot interfere in such cases in the realm of contractual conditions.
