Panel to study YSR park proposal

HYDERABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday asked an expert committee to examine the proposal for construction of a park in memory of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Necklace Road here.
A Division Bench comprising Justice R.V. Raveendran and Justice H.K. Gokhale wanted the expert committee which was earlier appointed by the Apex Court to submit its report within two months.
Petition
The Bench was dealing with a petition filed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) a few months ago on an earlier order that any construction on Necklace Road should be taken up with the prior permission of the Apex Court. This order was issued on a plea by the Forum for Better Hyderabad objecting to any construction on the banks of Hussain Sagar lake.
