TIRUCHI: The Tiruchi-Karaikudi National Highway would be developed at a cost of Rs.374 crore by the National Highways Authority of India.

The road running for a distance of about 110 km would be strengthened as a two-lane highway.

According to NHAI sources, the project has been awarded to Transstroy Ltd-OJSC Consortium, an Indo-Russian joint venture.

The road is to be developed under the National Highways Development Project –Phase III A.

The Tiruchi-Karaikudi NH 210 is the only highway that has not been covered under the four-lane projects around the city.
