Bangalore: Inspired by a Kannada book, “Karunalu Baa Belake,” Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde, who released the book on Sunday, said that he would gift the book to corrupt people.

Speaking after releasing the second and third volumes of the book, he said: “This book upholds values that should be inculcated by citizens in society where corruption is rampant.” Citing an example of a corruption complaint that came before him, he read out extracts from the book that reflected values that should be imbibed by citizens. “I would like to buy these books and gift them to people to ensure that moral values are upheld,” he said.

Authored by Gururaj Karajagi, columnist, the book was launched at Reliance Time Out in the presence of Harshanand Ji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Math and music director Hamsalekha.

The second volume of the book comprises 100 episodes that range on topics such as music, religion, sentiments that are excerpts from the author's life too. This book also has a tale that narrates the author's encounter with Mother Teresa, which influenced his personality. The third volume of the book too consists of tales filled with virtues.
