PATHANAMTHITTA: The annual general body meeting of the Kerala auxiliary of the Bible Society of India will be held at St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church Hall (SC Seminary School campus) in Thiruvalla on September 19. Joseph Mar Thoma, head of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar, will inaugurate the meeting. Fr. Thomas Samuel, president of Kerala auxiliary, will preside over the inaugural session. A.M. Prabhakaran from Bangalore will deliver the keynote address. Yuhanon Mar Chrysostomos, Euyakim Mar Coorilos, Thomas Abraham and D. Jayapaul will speak. In a statement, Prof. Mathew said the meeting assumed special significance as the Malayalam version of the Bible brought out by the society in 1811 was completing 200 years. The society would organise a Bible exhibition at the SC Seminary school buildings from September 18 to 19. The first Gospel printed by the society, Papyrus scrolls, Bibles in various languages, a computer bible and so on would be kept on display. A Bible convention would be organised at the church hall on September 18. George Cherian, Missions India director, will deliver the keynote address.
