Verma, Vidyut crack centuries

HYDERABAD: Centuries by A.S.K. Verma for Andhra and Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan for Goa in different matches were the highlights of the second round of the Coromandel King All India Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup invitation cricket tournament here on Sunday.

Verma's stroke-filled 114 (177b, 11x4, 4x6) helped Andhra score 323 against Vidarbha on the first day. He was given good support by Ajay Kumar who hit a half-century off 61balls (4x4, 1x6).

In another match, Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan scored 112 (177b, 11x4) to help Goa post a challenging 330 for nine against Jharkhand.

Regan Pinto 62 (135b, 5x4) and Rahul Keni (56b, 3x4, 2x6) were the other main contributors.

Tamil Nadu 246 in 86.3 overs (L. Surya Prakash 85, B. Aparjith 77) vs HCA Colts 14 for no loss in five overs.

Rajasthan 299 in 88.3 overs (Aakash Chopra 56, Vineet Saxena 69, Robin Bist 46, Dishant Yagnik 67, Rohit Chowdhury three for 35, Piyush Chawla four for 88) vs UP 34 for no loss.

Andhra 323 in 88.1 overs (D. B. Prasanth Kumar 39, L. N. Prasad Reddy 32, A. S. K. Verma 114, Ajay Kumar 50, Srikanth Wagh three for 60) vs Vidarbha.

Goa 330 for nine in 90 overs (Vidyut Sivaramakrishan 112, Regan Pinto 62, Rahul Keni 50, Samar Quadri four for 100) vs Jharkhand.

Orissa 285 in 87.4 overs (Biplab Samantaray 62, Govind 41, Subhid 46, Niranjan Behera 35, Natraj Behera 35, S. Sreesanth three for 27, Raiph Vincent Gomez three for 60) vs Kerala.

Tamil Nadu 361 for nine in 90 overs bt Goa 253 in 60.2 overs ( Sagun Kamat 53,Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan 35, Regan Pinto 77, Saurabh Bandekar 34, Sher Bahadur Yadav 42, Aushik Srinivas four for 67).

HCA Colts 195 for seven in 39 overs (T. Suman 36, P. Shashank Nag 43, P. S. Nirajan 35) bt Jharkhand 113 in 34.5 overs (Pappu Kumar Singh 35 not out, Alfred Absoloem three for 21, Amol Shinde three for 27) .
