CAB declined offer?

The Cricket Association of Bengal is reported to have declined an offer from the Board of Control for Cricket in India to host India's second Test match of the New Zealand tour scheduled to start in the second week of November.

The offer from BCCI apparently came after Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, to which the match was originally allotted, expressed its inability to host the match.

According to sources, the CAB cited the ongoing renovation work in the Eden Gardens ahead of the 2011 World Cup as the reason for its inability to play the host.

When contacted, the CAB joint secretary Biswarup Dey said that is no official communication from the BCCI making the offer.
