Chennai and Salem clinch titles
TIRUCHI: Chennai and Salem bagged the boys' and girls' titles respectively in the State mini inter-district basketball tournament here on Sunday.
The results:
Boys: Final: Chennai 45 (Nirmal 10, Dhimanth 10) bt Virudhunagar 16 (Saravanan 10). Third place: Erode 20 (Ubanesh 10) bt Tiruvannamalai 8. Semifinals: Virudhunagar 24 (Priyadarshan 10) bt Erode 21 (Praveen 10); Chennai 40 (Prasanna 13, Nirmal 10) bt Tiruvannamalai 16 (Mukilan 10).
Girls: Final: Salem 27 (Nivetha 10) bt Erode 22 (Surya 10). Third place: Coimbatore 20 (Selvamithra 13) bt Chennai 15 (Pavithra 10). Semifinals: Salem 18 (Shivani 10) bt Chennai 10; Erode 15 (Shanthini 10) bt Coimbatore 14 .
