VISAKHAPATNAM: People from all sections of Peda Bayalu and surrounding villages took out a rally at the mandal headquarters on Monday in protest against the Maoists burning an APSRTC bus on Saturday night between Kunjamangi junction and Bangarumetta.
A banner asking what mistake it had done, was tied to the bus which was totally gutted. Banners and placards were displayed with messages asking Maoists not to destroy public facilities like buses, cell towers, roads, etc. as the Girijans would face several problems if the facilities were not functioning.
OSD of Narsipatnam C.M. Trivikrama Varma, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Paderu) T. Srinivas Rao, Inspector V.V. Appa Rao, Sub-Inspectors D. Ramesh and Sobhan Babu and others also participated.
