‘Simhavalokana', tribute to Vishnuvardhan

Bangalore: It could well be a nostalgic time for the die-hard fans of late “Sahasasimha” Vishnuvardhan, as 12 super-hit films of this charming star will hit the screens again during a three-day film festival starting on September 17 to mark the late actor's 60 {+t} {+h} birth anniversary on September 18. This is not all. Fans will get to watch these movies free on first-come, first-served basis.

The film festival, “Simhavalokana”, is being organised by Vishnuvardhan-Bharathi (Vibha) Charitable Trust at Inox in Garuda Mall off Magrath Road and Kapali cinema here.

“The festival will be inaugurated by Nagalakshmi, wife of director late Puttanna Kanagal at Inox, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan told presspersons here on Monday.

Kanagal was the director of Vishnuvardhan's first film, Nagarahavu, in 1972, in which he donned the role of a stubborn young man, Ramachari. The trust will felicitate a senior director, producer and an artiste from the films that are going to be screened.
