N. Janardhan Reddy HYDERABAD: A delegation of TDP Telangana Forum leaders called on Chief Minister K. Rosaiah here on Tuesday and requested him to officially celebrate September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day. However, the Chief Minister was stated to have turned down their plea stating that when there was no precedence from 1956, how it could be celebrated officially. The TDP delegation led by Nagam Janardhan Reddy explained to the Chief Minister the changed circumstances and the need of official celebration keeping in view the sentiments of Telangana people. The Chief Minister reportedly told them that a decision would be taken in this regard at an appropriate time to wind up the discussion. Earlier, they staged a protest in front of the DGP's office when they were not allowed to enter the office premises in the absence of State police chief K. Aravinda Rao. They went there to lodge a complaint on Monday's incidents at Parigi including the attack on TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu's convoy. They staged a sit-in protest against the police attitude of not allowing them even to meet an additional DGP. Later, they withdrew the protest after the DGP spoke to Mr. Janardhan Reddy over the phone from Bangalore. They submitted their complaint to Central Zone DCP Akun Sabarwal. Addressing the workers, Mr. Reddy asked TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and T-JAC convenor M. Kodandaram to stop politics and take along everybody to achieve Telangana. The delegation also comprised Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, P. Mahender Reddy, K. Harishwar Reddy, K.S. Ratnam, A. Annapurnamma and others.
