Electricity supply company engineer convicted

Bangalore: Mysore Sessions Court has convicted an assistant engineer of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation on the charge of taking bribe and sentenced him to three years simple imprisonment.

Taj Pasha, Assistant Engineer (Electrical), was caught by Mysore Lokayukta Police while accepting Rs. 3,000 from complainant P.R. Sunil Kumar of Prabhu Electricals for providing electricity connection to the premises of City Cable Networks Limited, Mysore, for commercial purpose.

Rs. 6,000 fine

After trial, Principal District and Sessions Court convicted Pasha of the charge levelled against him and also imposed a fine of Rs. 6,000.

The convict will have to undergo additional simple imprisonment for four months if he failed to pay the fine.
