KRISHNAGIRI/DHARMAPURI: Krishnagiri Collector V. Arun Roy on Wednesday released the draft voters' list for six Assembly constituencies in the district. As per the direction of the Election Commission, the voters' list was revised with the base date as on January 1, 2010. The exercise took place from July 1, 2010 to July 16, 2010. Those who have completed 18 years as on January 1 were included in the list. As many as 40,064 new voters (21,031 men and 19,033 women) were included in the list after verification. As per the draft voters' list, the total numbers of voters in the six Assembly constituencies are 11,27,104, of which the number of women voters are 5,49,574 and men 5,77,530. The number of voters in each constituency is as follows: Uthangarai (SC) - 1,77,898 (men 87,251, women 90,647); Bargur - 1,83,662 (men 93,241, women 90,421); Krishnagiri - 1,89,576 (men 94,064, women 95,512); Veppanahalli - 1,80,210 (men 92,950, women 87,260); Hosur - 2,16,892 (men 1,13,165, women 1,03,727) and Thali - 1,78,866 (men 93,463, women 85,403). As many as 44,591 applications were received for inclusion of names in the list, of which 40,064 were included after the hundred per cent field verification. The list would be displayed at all the designated polling booths across the district and post offices in the district. Photo Identity Cards for the new voters would be issued before the end of November. Booth Level Assistants (BLAs) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were instructed to work in tandem to ensure that not a single eligible voter was omitted from the list. In Dharmapuri, Collector P. Amutha released the list for five Assembly constituencies in the district at the Collectorate. The number of voters in each constituency is as follows: Palacode - 1,73,630 (men 88,925, women 84,705); Pennagaram - 1,87,520 (men 96,241, women 91,275); Dharmapuri - 2,06,550 (men 1,05,162, women 1,01,381); Pappireddypatti – 2,00,182 (men 1,02,042, women 98,138) and Harur (SC) - 1,81,670 (men 93,117, women 88,549). A total of 40,063 new voters were included in the list after verification. Commissions and omissions regarding wrongly printed names and photo not matching with the names and other mistakes can be brought to the notice of the officials concerned, the Collector said.
