Re-poll in six Gujarat polling stations

Manas Dasgupta

AHMEDABAD: The Election Commission has accepted the Congress demand for re-poll in six stations in the Kathlal Assembly constituency in Gujarat, where a by-election was held on Monday.

In view of the re-poll on Thursday, the counting of votes scheduled for Thursday has been deferred by a day.

The Congress had raised the demand suspecting foul play because of the very high percentage of polling in these booths. Against the overall polling percentage of 66.71 in the entire constituency, they recorded over 97 per cent.
