Advocates demand action against attacker

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Advocates Association (TNAA) and the Madras High Court Advocates Association (MHAA) submitted a petition to Director General of Police Letika Saran demanding action against a person who attacked Madras High Court advocate T.P. Senthilkumar and damaged his car.

President of the TNAA S. Prabakaran, who led the team of advocates, said the DGP had promised to take action.

“She said the police was busy with providing security for Ramzan and Vinayagar Chaturthi festivals,” he said.

MHAA general secretary G. Mohanakrishnan was also present.

In his complaint, Mr. Senthilkumar had said that he was attacked by a gang at Marudhur village in Nagapattinam district when he was discussing a case with his colleague at his office on September 9.

Mr. Prabakaran said he had brought it to the notice of the DGP the frequent attacks on lawyers.
