Rohan, Nandu and Bhargav hog the limelight

HYDERABAD: Good spells by Rohan Yadav (eight for 37) for Galaxy and Telangana's Nandu Vishnuvardhan (seven for 71) were the highlights of the A-division (two-day) league cricket championship here on Wednesday.

In another match, Bhargav Rayudu's unbeaten 102 helped MCC score 284 against Cambridge.

The scores: A-division (two-day) league: SA Amberpet 164 (Aditya Jain 39, Pavan 33, Nandu Vishnuvardhan seven for 71) vs Telangana 102 for four (Mohinder Reddy 54 batting).

Central Excise 134 (Nikhil Jain 35, K.S. Charan six for 42) vs Jai Bhagwathi 40 for two. Brothers XI 150 (Mohammed Sajjad Ali 65, G. Dheeraj Reddy three for 54, Sundar five for 47) vs Megacity 31 for two. MCC 284 (Bhargav Rayudu 102 not out, Shilpi Brahma 47, Vikram 34, N. Deshpal Reddy four for 33, N. Somanath, the top seed

Somanath Ghosh of South Central Railway and Nikhat Bhanu of Gujarati Seva Mandal were given the top billing in the men's and women's categories respectively of the 10th AWASA Anant Narayan Reddy and Rameshwaramma memorial State-ranking table tennis tournament to be held here from September 17 to 19.

Bhavani, Sharada and Mayuri put up a fine show for the winner while Soni, Tasleem and Mona shone for the loser.

MJ in last four

MJ College of Engineering moved into the semifinals with a 57-37 win over Wesley College in the OU inter-collegiate basketball tournament here.
