PUDUKOTTAI: NCC cadets of the H.H.The Rajah's College took out an anti-tobacco rally here recently, sensitising the people to the evils of tobacco.
Raising slogans and carrying placards, the cadets marched down the thoroughfares before returning to the college.
Earlier, P.Sethuraman, Principal of the college, flagged off the rally. He said that tobacco caused several fatal diseases including cancer.
He appealed to the students to campaign against tobacco on a sustained basis to create awareness about its ill-effects.
Capt.P.Rajaretinam, Company Commander, led the rally. S.Ravichandran, Regular Army Staff of 9 TN BN NCC Karaikudi and a large number of police personnel also participated .
