TIRUCHI: The Quizzociates club would conduct quiz competitions for school and college students and an open quiz on September 18 and 19 in the city, in connection with its silver jubilee celebrations. The Quizzociates has been nurturing special interest in quiz competitions in the student community and has been training them for the past 25 years. It has been regularly conducting inter-school and inter-collegiate quiz competitions for many years and they have evoked an overwhelming response from the school and college students. Contest for school students The quiz contest for school students will be held from 10 a.m., while it will be from 3 p.m. for college students on September 18 and the competitions will be held at Tamil Sangam hall. V. V. Ramanan is the quiz master for the quiz contest for college students. A ‘Sil Q Talk', an open interactive session on ‘Significance of general knowledge in personality development', moderated by G. Balakrishnan, former vice-principal, St. Joseph's College, will be organised on September 19 at Hotel Ajantha here. This will be followed by a ‘Rock Quiz' contest open for all. Sumanth C. Raman, noted quiz master, will conduct the quiz. The valedictory function will be held the same evening in which Collector T. Soundiah would be the chief guest. A book titled “The Q Factor” would be released by Vice Chancellor, Bharathidasan University K. Meena. The first copy of the book will be received by N. Gopalsamy, Director, Dalmia Cements Limited, a press communication issued here recently said.
