‘Aware of schemes'

ARIYALUR: Agricultural workers and small farmers should be aware of welfare schemes being implemented for their benefit, said K.Chellamuthu, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Workers Welfare Board, here.

Mr Chellamuthu who along with Collector T.Abraham reviewed the progress of the implementation of the welfare schemes in Ariyalur , appreciated the district administration for registering members with the welfare board. He said 3,72,654 farm workers and small farmers in the district had registered with the welfare board and identity cards were issued 1,45,627 members .He said Rs.14.85 crore had been disbursed to 15,654 beneficiaries through the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Workers Welfare Board. Mr Chellamuthu distributed assistance of Rs.46.55 lakh to 507 beneficiaries at the meeting.
