The programme was launched in August There were many grievances from across the district MYSORE: The Deputy Commissioner's direct phone-in programme being held on third Thursday of every month to address public grievances has been receiving good response. The one-hour programme was launched in August and is being held at the district control room under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta. In the presence of officials of various departments, the Deputy Commissioner tries to solve the problems during the programme. At the programme held on Thursday, there were complaints of absence of streetlights, and mosquito menace at Parasaiyyanahundi village in Srirampura Gram Panchayat limits. There were grievances that the school development and monitoring committee had not been set up at the Government Higher Primary School at Hanagodu in Hunsur taluk. Mr. Gupta, who heard the grievances, promised to take steps after speaking to the officials concerned. Suneethamma of Heggadahalli village in Nanjangud taluk complained that she had not received benefits under the Sandya Suraksha scheme despite submitting an application a month ago. Another caller from K.R. Nagar sought public auction of fish caught from the lake in Hosakote in K.R. Nagar taluk. A resident of Nanjangud sought immediate repair of Mysore-Nanjangud Road. Officials of the national highway division in the PWD told the Deputy Commissioner that a proposal had been sent to the Centre seeking Rs. 11 crore to repair the road until it was converted into a four-lane road.
