Idol immersion to begin today

Nagercoil: Communal Harmony Forum (Thiruvarul Peravai), consisting of people from all walks of life, has decided to give a grand reception to Vinayaga Chaturthi procession. The immersion of Vinayaga idols in different parts of the district would begin from Friday including Monday Market, Periyavilai, Kanchanpuram, Kapicadu, Kanankulathankarai, Kottaram, and Marthandam.

Collector Rajendra Ratnoo has assured that necessary steps would be taken to ensure smooth immersion of idols.

The forum members took oath to maintain brotherhood in the society.

It has also been decided to give reception to the procession of Vinayaga idols on September 19 by the members of various communities at Nagercoil. The function would be led by the Collector.
