Award nomination for Pappu the Zebra

Thrissur: Pappu the Zebra, the official mascot of the road safety awareness drive of the Kerala Police, has been nominated for the International Safety Media Award – 2010, instituted by the Injury Prevention Centre, Alaska.

Artist Nandan Pillai, illustrator of the Stories of Pappu the Zebra, said that the purpose of the International Safety Media Award was to recognise excellence in safety and injury prevention messages.

Pappu the Zebra was the only nomination from the country for the award, he said.

The award would be declared at the World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion to be held in London between September 21-24.
