Hariharan on Thursday asked the people to support and visit stalls put up by the Self Help Group members for Navarathiri celebrations. Inaugurating the sale-cum-exhibition of commodities produced by SHGs at Nadar Mahajana Sangam, he said the expo had been opened to encourage them to market their produce in a professional and systematic manner. It would motivate them to know the nuances of market as well as help them in knowing more techniques on attracting customers, getting the first hand interest of the visitors. Many items including imitation jewellery, artefacts, handicrafts, dolls and items needed for ‘Navarathiri kolu' celebration had been exhibited for sale. Mr. Hariharan said as many as 40 stalls had been set up. The exhibition would go on for 30 days. It was opened with a view of promoting rural livelihood initiatives that would improve the profitability of Self Help Groups.
