Fatehdeep, Jasmine win
NEW DELHI: Fatehdeep Singh and Jasmine Kaur Bajaj won the under-16 boys and girls' titles respectively in the Gopal Krishan Batra memorial AITA Super series junior tennis tournament on Friday.
The top-seeded Fatehdeep beat Garvit Batra, but the latter went on to clinch the under-14 title.
In the girls' section, Ria Bhatia had to endure the disappointment of losing both the finals, to Jasmine Kaur Bajaj in the under-16 section and Roma Chandran in the under-14 age group.
The results (finals):
Boys: Under-16: Fatehdeep Singh bt Garvit Batra 6-3, 6-3; Under-14: Garvit Batra bt Shailender Boniface 6-2, 6-2.
Girls: Under-16: Jasmine Kaur Bajaj bt Ria Bhatia 7-5, 6-1; Under-14: Roma Chandran bt Ria Bhatia 6-3, 6-2 .
