CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has ordered notice to Villupuram and Puducherry police on a plea of a mill worker that his nurse-daughter had been abducted and married by force by an anti-social element In his habeas corpus petition, M. Rajagopal, a mill worker, alleged that his 22-year-old daughter was under the illegal detention of one Korangu Viji alias Viji of Villiyanur in Puducherry. When the petition came up, a Division Bench headed by Justice C. Nagappan ordered notice to the police. According to Rajagopal, his daughter, Logeswari, worked with a hospital in Villupuram district, but shifted to Chennai after Viji started stalking her. She joined a private hospital as staff nurse. She was to marry her first cousin Senthilkumar on September 3. On August 23, Viji along with some others, carried away Logeswari. After several complaints , the all-woman police station in Puducherry accepted Rajagopal's complaint. Later, Logeswari appeared in the police station along with Viji and his men, who claimed that Logeswari and Viji had got married. Mr Rajagopal said the police refused to take further action in the matter
