BANGALORE: The Rally of Rajasthan, the third round of the Speed Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) was flagged off from Umaid Palace at Jodhpur on Friday.

Red Rooster leads the overall standings after the first two races at Nashik and Coimbatore while two of its drivers — Vikram Mathias (24 points) and six-time National champion Naren Kumar (17) — occupy the top two spots.

Their closest rival is the defending champion Gaurav Gill (MRF Racing) who is currently third with 16.

In the team event, Red Rooster is on top with 32 points followed by MRF with 26. Ovion Racing (10) is in the third spot.

Red Rooster supremo Dinesh Reddy was confident of his team doing well. “We did extremely well in Coimbatore with Naren and Vikram taking the top honours.

“The Rally of Rajasthan is going to be tough as it is a new terrain, but I am sure of the team doing well as the drivers are extremely focused.'' he said.
