Alpha Arts College wins

CHENNAI: Alpha Arts College faced a strong challenge from Panimalar ‘B' before winning in three sets on the opening day of the Fresh Water-Chennai District B division volleyball league championship at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium.

P. Thamaraikannan, Joint Commissioner of Police and V. Nandakumar, Deputy Director, Customs, inaugurated the championship in the presence of Water Dawaram, President, TNAA.

The results: Chennai Suburban Police beat Loyola College 25-15, 25-20; RPF beat Agarsen College 25-8 25-12; Times VBC beat Ashok Leyland 25-15, 26-24 Choolai Friends beat Lucas TVS 25-12, 25-12; Tamil Nadu Police ‘B' beat Spickers VBC 25-13, 25-7; Alpha Arts beat Panimalar ‘B' 23-25, 26-24, 25-20 .
