SANGAREDDY: Chandana Khan, Principal Secretary, Primary Education and Sarva Sikshya Abhiyan, said that the government has agreed to introduce class IX and X in Kasturba Schools from the next academic year. In a review meeting held at Sangareddy on Saturday, Ms. Chandana Khan said that government was focusing on education for children and it was the responsibility of the officials to see that all the children would be in school She directed the officials to conduct a field check in this regard when District Education Officer M. Gopal Reddy informed that 2,334 children are out of school. She also stressed the need for providing drinking water and toilets in all schools as it was one of the reasons for children dropping out of school adding that maintaining toilets in girls schools. Responding to the information provided by DEO that 633 schools were yet to be provided with drinking water facility, she directed the officials of rural water supply and AP Transco to provide facilities in schools. Collector S. Suresh Kumar was present.
