Nikita bags title

BANGALORE: Nikita Ramesh bagged the girls' under-10 singles title with a 21-16, 21-19 victory over Driti Yateesh in the final of the event in the Yonex Sunrise State sub-junior badminton championship at Ramanagaram near here, on Saturday.

In the boys' under-10 section, M. Rohit set up a title clash with Rohan.

The results (semifinals ):

Boys: Under-10: M. Rohit bt Tejas 21-14, 21-14; Rohan bt Shivdeep 21-13, 21-8.

U-13: Mithun Manjunath bt R. Abhishek 21-17, 21-16; Syed Saad Ali bt Rakshit 16-21, 21-10, 21-18.

U-16: S. Siddarth bt Sahil Sipani 21-17, 21-9; Harshit bt Daniel S. Farid 15-21, 21-18, 21-6.

Girls: U-10: Nikita Ramesh bt Trisha Hegde 11-21, 21-5, 21-6; Driti Yateesh bt M. Richa 21-17, 21-12.

U-13: Mahima Agarwal bt Apeksha Nayak 21-18, 21-15; Ashwini Bhat bt Aashi Gupta 21-12, 19-21, 24-22.

U-16: Quarterfinals: Devika Ravindra bt Poorvisha S. Ram 21-16, 21-16; Reshma Karthik bt Syeda 17-21, 21-10, 21-13; Mira Mahadevan bt Priya Prakash 21-13, 21-15; Mahima Agarwal bt Chinmayi 21-13, 21-12 .
