Film-screening schedule announced

BHUBANESWAR: The Film Society of Bhubaneswar (FSB), on Sunday, announced its screening schedule for September.

The screening, slated for September 26 evening at Jayadev Bhawan shall commence with “Only When I Dance”, a film from Brazil made in 2009 by Beadie Finzi . “It is an inspiring documentary that follows two teenagers from the violent shanty towns of Rio de Janeiro as they pursue their dreams of becoming professional ballet dancers on the international stage,” an FSB release stated.

The second film would be “Code Unknown: Incomplete Tales of Several Journeys” made in 2000 by Michael Haneke, the Austria-born director's first French language feature film. “A scuffle in a Paris street instantly unites the lives of several different characters.

Haneke's complex and powerful film explores their various backgrounds and stories – intricate and moving studies of the subtle connections and barriers between people, class, race and the difficulty of communicating in the modern world,” the release mentioned.
