Computer training for school teachers

PERAMBALUR: Not all school teachers have adequate exposure to the use and applications of computer science. Sensing the importance of imparting computer education to school teachers, a special five-day programme was held here recently.

The School of Computer Science of Thanthai Hans Roever College, in association with the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Chennai and National Council for Science and Technology Communication, New Delhi, organised the programme in which a large number of school teachers from the district participated.

M.Rajan, Chief Educational Officer, who inaugurated the programme, said the programme was organised to benefit teachers who had no opportunity to learn its basic applications so far.

K.Varadharaajen, Founder and Chairman of Roever Educational Institutions, in his presidential address, said the latest advancement in communication and information technology had been responsible for the development of our country. Power point presentation, Microsoft Excel and use of internet were explained to the teachers. Certificates were given to the participants .
