Engineers' Day celebrated

The 43 {+r} {+d} Engineers' Day was celebrated by the students' chapter of the Institution of Engineers (India), Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Saranathan College of Engineering here recently.

The General Manager (Engineering), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchi R. Kumar garlanded the portrait of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya and spoke on the topic “Impending paradigm shift in engineering sciences and future challenges”.

J.Sankaran, honorary secretary, Institution of Engineers (India), Tiruchi local centre highlighted the role of students chapter in engineering institutions. Cash awards and certificates were distributed to the students who emerged winners in various competitions organised on the eve of the function. The college Principal, faculty members and students took part in the function, a press release here said.
