Kozhikode: The Residents' Apex Council of Kozhikode has submitted a memorandum to the district authorities on ways to prevent accidents and improve the flow of traffic at the Thondayad bypass junction in the city as accidents have been recurring at the junction. The suggestions include posting traffic police personnel permanently at the junction, operating traffic signals round the clock, constructing a flyover at the junction on the Kozhikode-Medical College road, widening the road at the junction to enable drivers to see vehicles coming from all the four directions and taking strict action against drivers who violate traffic rules. The memorandum was submitted by council president K.P. Abdul Latheef to the City Police Commissioner and the District Collector on Friday.
