BANGALORE: Capt. P.V.K. Mohan was re-elected president of the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India at its Annual General Body Meeting here on Saturday. The newly-constituted managing committee of the BSFI has pledged to promote cue sports in the country in a big way. Mohan announced that BSFI would unveil a National Masters Cue League in the coming season, which would feature all top cueists playing on a zonal basis and culminating in a National event. “The league will encourage those who are adept in billiards, snooker and pool alike and should generate a lot of interest among the players as well as the public,” said Mohan.S. Balasubramaniam, the new BSFI Secretary, said the Federation would assist players who are selected to play international tournaments. “It is a financial burden on them and BSFI will take steps to mitigate that issue,” he said. The new office-bearers: President: Capt. P.V.K. Mohan (AP); Vice-Presidents: Bholu Mehta (MP), Kush Bhargava (UP), Rajan Khinvasara (Mah) and K. Ranjan (TN); Hon. Secretary: S. Balasubramaniam (Kar); Treasurer: M.S.R. Aradhya (Kar) .
