Tuticorin: In a bid to propagate scientific temper among students, Tamil Nadu Science and Technology, Chennai, extended financial support to students from various schools in the district.
Collector G. Prakash provided a sum of Rs. 5, 000 to each of 363 students at the Collectorate here on Monday. Students from 30 government schools in the district had been chosen. Mr. Prakash urged the student community to utilise the opportunity. P. Vishnu Prasad, Chief Education Officer, said the group of students would select science related topics with innovation for executing a mini project. After completion of the project work, a panel of officials would determine the significance of the subjects and the best of talents would present a similar programme at the State-level, which was slated to be held in October in Chennai.
The best of twelve students would be picked based on the project works.
