NELLORE: About 300 students from various government and private schools participated in the drawing competitions organised by the Tourism Department in the city on Tuesday. The competitions were conducted in connection with the ‘World Tourism Day' being celebrated on September 27. The Tourism Department officials conducted drawing, essay writing and elocution competitions for students. Children from C.A.M High School, E.S.R.M. Municipal High School, Government Veda and Sanskrit School, Ravindra Bharati, Ratnam and other institutions participated in the competitions. The students sketched irrigation projects, waterfalls, historic temples and dargahs, flamingo birds at Lake Pulicat, green fields depicting nature and tourism projects. Collector K. Ramgopal will distribute the prizes to the winners of the competitions during the ‘World Tourism Day' celebrations to be held at A.P. Tourism (Haritha) Hotel in the city on September 27.
