Going by IMA note, industrialists looking for “forward-thinking perspective” from KCR May also raise questions on the relationship between Telangana, neighbouring States HYDERABAD: The stage is set for an important closed-door meeting between Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K. Chandrasekhara Rao and the India CEO Forum here on Wednesday. Interaction The interaction being facilitated by International Market Assessment (IMA) India CEO Forum could see Mr. Rao being quizzed by some of the top honchos of Indian industry on chances of bifurcation of the State and if it happens, its implications on industry and common man, governance and functioning. Going by the note prepared by the IMA for the meeting for which media had not been invited to facilitate a frank exchange of dialogue, the industrialists are looking for “forward-thinking perspective, one that looks towards the future as opposed to focus on the past” from Mr. Rao. The note points to the fact that the creation of a separate state required immediate follow-up in terms of aggressive administration to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of governance. That in turn required careful planning at the State level and strong support from the Centre, which were regrettably lacking in the States created in the recent past. Multiple issues such as technology deployment, corruption, expectations from new tax codes, multi-location investments come up as possible areas of challenge and or focus. In this backdrop, industrialists are keen on seeking Mr. Rao's views. Impact They may also raise questions on the relationship between Telangana and other neighbouring States and the advantages in the event of separation and its impact on Hyderabad as a city and as an investment destination.
