‘Expedite PMEGP loan sanction process'

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has appealed to the branch managers of all banks in the State to ensure that the process of loans for the projects under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) does not take more than a month's time.

K. Mohan Rao, KVIC State director, said in a press release that 8,381 PMEGP projects with a margin money involvement of Rs.227.78 crore have been recommended in 21 districts of the State.

The State has been allocated a target of Rs.48.98 crore for 2010-11 by the KVIC central office.

He said speedy sanction and grounding of the PMEGP units would enable the State to get more margin money if the bank loan sanctions were made time-bound.
